ITABASHI Hiromi

Born in 1948, Tokyo
After studying ceramics at the Tajimi City Ceramic Design Institute, ITABASHI Hiromi developed an innovative practice that challenges conventional notions of pottery. Through original techniques and bold ideas, she creates expressive works ranging from sculptural pieces to functional vessels, each imbued with his unmistakable originality.
His sculptural cup has a striking silhouette. A refined white cone sits inverted atop a narrow, irregular base with a gold-toned finish, creating a strong contrast in form and balance.
