The Sakazuki
A Curated Collection of Contemporary Japanese Ceramic & Glass Art Sake Vessels
What is a Sakazuki?
A Sakazuki is a small sake cup traditionally used in ceremonial settings, such as weddings or formal gatherings. Its form encourages a slower way of drinking, where aroma, temperature, and texture can be appreciated more fully. Beyond its function, the sakazuki carries cultural meaning of symbolizing connection and exchange, while also serving as a small canvas where form, texture, and craftsmanship can be quietly appreciated.
