YONEHARA Shinji
Glass Artisan
Born in 1961, Tokyo
Working primarily in blown glass, YONEHARA Shinji creates works that are fluid, delicate, and dynamic. Particularly well known are his “Spiral” series, which evokes cosmic imagery through spherical forms, and “Uzuhōju,” inspired by Ainu shamanic traditions. His work is highly regarded by collectors both in Japan and abroad.
A ceramic cup supported by three legs, referencing ancient vessel forms. The surface is decorated with patch-like areas of contrasting color and fine blue lines, adding rhythm and detail.
