Karatsu style is known for its understated aesthetics and brush-like glazing. This bowl features a soft grey surface with the clay subtly revealed at the base. The centre remains smooth and quiet.

Suitable for tea or everyday dining. It pairs well with simple dishes, allowing the natural tones to complement the food.

Artist

SUZUKI Hiroyumi is a Japanese ceramic artist whose work is shaped by traditions across different countries, including Japan and Korea, creating pieces informed by his study and experience of these cultures. He follows a strict "no shortcuts" philosophy, ensuring every piece is meticulously crafted to last for centuries. Utilizing techniques like Kohiki and Mishima, he creates clean, sophisticated forms ranging from matcha bowls to functional tableware. Suzuki’s work is intended to be "grown" by the user, gaining a unique character and depth through years of daily use.

Care

Unless otherwise noted above, all items can be used following the general guidelines below. These suggestions help ensure the longevity of each piece and maintain its appearance over time.

Dishwasher:
Our items are dishwasher-safe; however, we highly recommend placing them separately and leaving at least one empty slot between pieces. This helps prevent accidental damage caused by high-pressure water or collisions inside the machine.

Microwave:
Please avoid using any items from the Signature Collections or pieces that include metal elements (such as gold or silver accents, or Kintsugi repairs involving metal) as they may spark or cause a fire.

Oven:
We do not recommend using any of our items in an oven.
