This short donabe balances depth with accessibility. Slightly wider and lower than the tall version, it is well suited for everyday simmering, rice cooking, miso-based soups, stews, and double-boiled dishes, as well as smaller hot pot preparations.

Crafted from local clay, the earthenware pot offers reliable heat retention and a gentle cooking rhythm. Finished in a warm brown tone, its compact form and integrated handles make it a practical and welcoming piece for daily use.

Special thanks to Sakuragawa in Kyoto for demonstrating the donabe in use and generously providing their restaurant as our photo venue.

Care

Unless otherwise noted above, all items can be used following the general guidelines below. These suggestions help ensure the longevity of each piece and maintain its appearance over time.

Dishwasher:
Our items are dishwasher-safe; however, we highly recommend placing them separately and leaving at least one empty slot between pieces. This helps prevent accidental damage caused by high-pressure water or collisions inside the machine.

Microwave:
Most items are microwave-safe. However, please avoid using any piece that includes metal elements (such as gold or silver accents, or Kintsugi repairs involving metal) as they may spark or cause a fire.

Oven:
We do not recommend using any of our items in an oven.
